From Hazleton, Pennsylvania, We Cast Our Net

Welcome to our new website! We hope you enjoy your time here. Our goal in this website’s creation was to give you a clear, uncluttered tour of our many services. The forest on our landing page represents who we are in many ways. Mimicking that forest, we hope that you find us to be a breath of fresh air.   I fell in love with this image since it reminds me of a pristine woodland expanse along Hazleton’s Trails to Trails. Every time, I walk this part of the trail, I am filled with awe. I can only aspire to have my words capture a glimpse of the power of that kind of nature all around us.

Our company began almost four years ago as Mountain Laurel Consultants. My husband Wayne Funk designed the website, and we worked to cultivate an impressive array of clients ranging from Connecticut to Shanghai. Ours is a virtual company, and a very green one. To accomplish what I do, I need my home, my laptop, some light, and information. As a green consumer and business person, I take pride in my telecommuting. In fact, I can travel the world and do work from any room in my home, and often from our gazebo in the backyard. This is how I envisioned my life, but it took some time to get to this place. Yes, accomplishment is not always instantaneous but rather takes perseverance. It also never remains static.

Today, and with the gentle hoopla of launching this new website, we have become Mountain Laurel Copywriting and Content Creation. Our new name is like a headline and better expresses exactly what we do for you.   Today, marketing rarely involves pounding the pavement or making cold calls. What a gruesome way to make a living! In fact, the most effective marketing that corporations like American Express and LEGO (to name just a few) use involves giving potential customers the content they want and need to improve their lives. We see this in action most often in blogs, articles, reports, eBooks, and video presentations. This positive marketing strategy cultivates long-term rather than once- upon- a- time sales. And if you are like me, or most modern marketers, your goal is consistency.

To make this happen you need good writing and planning. To really succeed, however, you need every word that represents your company to sparkle off the page and make your prospects smile…and then place that first order. You must be honest, but you also have to charm and amaze. The moment your prospect hits the snooze button, you are lost. And that is where I can help you.

While the new age of marketing is upon all of us, some prefer to stick to that same old oatmeal, cold and slimy, beckoning your prospect to dig in for that morning dose of difficult nourishment. You know what I am talking about – those same tiresome marketing schemes that consumers are wise to and despise. They will get you nowhere today. What you deliver has to like that timeless forest. It has to awaken your prospect to verdant possibilities. The cold day-old (okay, decades-old) oatmeal – yes, maybe that worked once upon a time, but we all have to confess, it was never really fun, and its unfolding probably made as many enemies as customers.  Are you ready to compost the dead oatmeal?

We would rather just make friends. We will entertain, inform, and astonish, always using friendly, energetic, alive English. I have the verbal formulas to do exactly that, so please join me on this journey.

    Wonderful! Best wishes for success.
  2. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appeal. I must say you’ve done a very good job with this. Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Safari. Outstanding Blog!|
